Job Description

About the Team

Epia Neuro is a neural technology company developing intent-driven systems designed to restore function and independence for people living with neurological conditions. Its platform integrates implantable neural interfaces, adaptive algorithms, and assistive devices to translate neural intent into real-world action. The company’s initial focus is stroke-related motor impairment, with expansion in cognitive decline and other neurological disorders, focusing on long-term solutions for the growing aging population.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to help build the team behind the next generation of implantable neurotechnology.

This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with company leadership and shape how talent is identified, engaged, and hired across the organization. You'll partner closely with engineering leaders to attract and hire exceptional technical talent across hardware, software, systems, firmware, machine learning, neuroscience, and related disciplines. You'll also support hiring across clinical, regulatory, quality, operations, and business functions as the company grows.

As Epia's first dedicated recruiting hire, you'll build the recruiting function from the ground up. You'll shape our hiring strategy while owning the day to day execution that makes great hiring possible. This is a hands on role where you'll drive the full recruiting lifecycle. You'll source and close exceptional talent, coordinate interviews and onsite experiences, and continuously improve our recruiting processes. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the company, helping them make great hiring decisions and build high performing teams.

This role reports to the COO and is based onsite at our Alameda headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end to end recruiting process from intake through offer acceptance.

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and leaders to define hiring strategies, interview plans, and ideal candidate profiles.

  • Source and engage exceptional talent across engineering and other technical functions.

  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

  • Coordinate interview scheduling, onsite visits, candidate travel, and hiring logistics.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.

  • Facilitate interview debriefs and guide hiring teams through effective decision making.

  • Manage offer development, negotiation, and closing activities.

  • Maintain recruiting data, reporting, and process documentation.

  • Use recruiting data and market insights to influence hiring decisions and improve outcomes.

  • Continuously improve recruiting operations, candidate experience, and hiring efficiency.

  • Help build scalable recruiting programs and processes that support the company's long term growth.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of full cycle recruiting experience, with significant experience recruiting for engineering and other technical roles.

  • Demonstrated success hiring specialized technical talent in competitive markets.

  • Strong sourcing and candidate engagement skills, particularly for hard to fill engineering roles.

  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers and senior leaders.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving startup environment.

  • A proactive, resourceful, and data driven approach to recruiting.

Bonus Points

  • Experience recruiting within medical devices, neurotechnology, robotics, biotech, healthcare, or other highly technical industries.

  • Experience building recruiting functions, processes, or programs at a growing startup.

  • Passion for healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes.

How We Work

  • We are intentional. We respect one another's time and focus on what matters most.

  • We care deeply. We prioritize safety for our patients and support one another as teammates.

  • We are owners. We take accountability, act with urgency, and follow through on commitments.

  • We are curious. We continuously learn, challenge assumptions, and seek better ways of working.

  • We build together. We value collaboration, diverse perspectives, and shared success.
